Ahmed Gatnash

Kawaakibi Foundation is pleased to announce its latest grant, from the Human Rights Foundation (HRF)'s Bitcoin Development Fund, which is supporting 15 projects worldwide.

Kawaakibi Foundation is to receive $50,000 for the MENA Bitcoin Hub, our upcoming project seeking to empower civil society in the MENA region financially through the use of Bitcoin.

The programme aims to educate activists, journalists and nonprofit executives experiencing issues with banking and free transfer of money, or with financial surveillance and repression, on how Bitcoin can be a solution to this; and to train them on how to use Bitcoin and Lightning securely through a combination of workshops, courses and readily-available educational material.

The grant will be active over the course of two years.
